BOULDER -- To say that 2018 hasn't been the Colorado Buffaloes' year thus far in women's basketball may be one of the largest understatements in collegiate sports. Capped off by Sunday's 86-71 loss to the Oregon State Beavers (16-5, 7-3), the Buffs (11-10, 2-8) officially end the month of January with a 1-7 record--all of which being conference games.
Freshman Mya Hollingshed (22 points, 6-for-10 from deep) and junior Kennedy Leonard (19 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds) produced solid performances for the Buffs, but were ultimately no match for the Beaver 3-point threats that came early and often against a Colorado team that showed no quit until the final whistle.
The Buffs open a two game series against PAC-12 rival Utah Thursday night in Salt Lake City. Coverage on 630 KHOW starts with Buffs Warm-Up at 6:30 p.m. The tip from the Huntsman Center is set for 7:00 p.m. MT.
