According to multiple media reports, the Colorado Rockies have agreed to trade third baseman Nolan Arenado to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic broke the story.

He also reports that players going to the Rockies could include LHP Austin Gomber, 1B Luken Baker and OF Jhon Torres. RHP Jake Woodford or RHP Angel Rondon might also be included in the deal.

The Rockies will reportedly include $50 million in the deal, to offset some of the remaining $199 million left on Arenado's contract, which runs through the 2026 season, with an opt-out after 2021. Rosenthal reports that he will keep that opt-out and get another in 2022.

The Rockies selected Arenado out of El Toro High School in Southern California in the second round of the 2009 MLB amateur draft.

He has won the National League Gold Glove award at third base in each of his first eight Major League seasons, all with the Rockies. He has also hit 235 home runs and driven in 760 runs.
