Nuggets Stifle Spurs, 108-90, Take 3-2 Series Lead

The Denver Nuggets got down right defensive on Tuesday night.

And it turned out to be a great thing.

The Nuggets stifled the Spurs and protected their home court in a 108-90 win over the San Antonio Spurs in their first round playoff series. The Nuggets take a 3-2 series lead.

Denver held San Antonio to 41% shooting from the field and only seven three-pointers in 24 attempts.

On the offesnvie end, the Nuggets were good enough, shooting 50% and connecting on 14-of-33 threes (42.4%).

The Spurs could only muster 23 points or fewer in each of the first three quarters.

Jamal Murray was one of six Nuggets in double figures. He scored a team-high 23 points. Nikola Jokic added 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

The Nuggets and Spurs will play game six Thursday night at 6 p.m. MDT in San Antonio.
