The Denver Broncos have made a change on the quarterback depth chart.

Chad Kelly is now number two behind Case Keenum; Paxton Lynch is third-string.

The Broncos made the move official on Monday, two days after Kelly outplayed Lynch in the preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings beat the Broncos, 42-28.

Monday at practice, Kelly worked with the second team offense while Lynch's reps came with the third team.

Lynch was the second quarterback to play and saw action from almost late in the first quarter to midway through the third quarter.

Lynch finished the game 6-11 passing for 24 yards and one interception. Kelly was 14-21 for 177 yards with two touchdowns and one pick. Kelly also rushed for 38 yards on three carries.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph talked about the decision after practice on Monday, August 13.
