Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story could not have authored a better final chapter to the Rockies pre-All-Star Break portion of the schedule.
Story powered Nick Vincent's 2-2 pitch over the left-center field fence and gave the Rockies a 4-3 win and a sweep of the thre-game series.
Story led off the ninth inning and capped a late-inning rally for the Rockies, who fell behind 3-2 on Dee Gordon's RBI single in the seventh inning.
The Rockies tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on Chris Iannetta's sacrifice fly that scored Ian Desmond.
The home run was Story's only hit of the game but he went 5-13 with two home runs, five RBIs and three runs scored in the series.
The Rockies head into the All-Star break on a five-game winning streak and they have won nine of their last 11 games and 13 out of 16.
The Rockies are right in the thick of things in a tight N.L. West race. They trail the first-place Dodgers by two games and the Diamondbacks are a half-game behind L.A.
Story, Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon will represent the Rockies at Tuesday's All-Star game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Manager Bud Black will also be a part of the coaching staff of Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who will be the skipper of the N.L. squad.
The Rockies will return to action on Friday, July 20 when they open a three-game series against the D'backs in Phoenix. Coverage starts at 7 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
