It was a win the Colorado Rockies had to have.

But it wasn't easy.

In a back-and-forth affair, the Rockies pulled out a 9-8 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday at AT&T Park and snapped their nine-game losing streak against N.L. West teams.

LeMahieu finished 3-4 with five RBIs. Nolan Arenado hit his 19th home run of the season and Ian Desmond drove in a pair of runs.

The win marked the first time this year the Rockies won a game in which they trailed heading to the ninth inning. They had been 0-37 in such a situation.

The Rockies head to Los Angeles to start a three-game series against the Dodgers on Friday night. Coverage starts at 7:30 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
