Baseball sure is a funny game sometimes.

After laboring through a 2-4 homestand, the Colorado Rockies got back out on the road and started winning again Monday night.

They defeated the San Diego Padres, 6-4, thanks in large part to Gerardo Parra's three-run home run in the sixth inning that broke a 3-3 tie.

The win gave the Rockies a 16-8 record on the road this season. The 16 road wins are third-most in Major League Baseball, trailing only the 17 road wins by both the Braves and Red Sox.

The Rockies and Padres close out their two-game series Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.

KOA NewsRadio Voice of the Rockies Jerry Schemmel spoke with outfielder Noel Cuevas after Monday night's win.
