I LOVE INDEPENDENCE DAY! AND DON'T CALL THE 4TH. Today marks the 242 anniversary of the beginning of the Great Experiment called the United States of America. When men tired of being ruled from afar and taxed without representation decided to pledge their honor, lives and treasure to a new free nation. The rebels decided to fight for their freedom and forge a nation that believed the People are in charge. Don't forget that. WE are in charge.
I CAN'T SING IT, BUT I SURE DO LOVE IT. The National Anthem has become a controversial song in the nation, and that makes me sad. It's all about the third stanza, which has been interpreted differently by different folks. I'm sorry this song makes some people unhappy, but it still makes me proud. This video has been floating around for years, and I've posted it for years. It's NOT entirely accurate, but it's so well done I share it anyway. For the REAL story you can click here. But watch this and be a proud American.
UH-OH COLORADO, WE COULD BE IN TROUBLE We are ninth in the country in the number of suicides per capita. Why? I've long thought our large veteran population may be to blame, but it could just be the ALTITUDE. I'm not kidding. A new study showed a pretty strong correlation between high altitude and suicide. Why? We don't get enough oxygen and it slows down our serotonin or something. And worse news? The altitude can also make many anti depressants less effective.
YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS STORY ABOUT THE PAKISTANI IT GUY DEMS ARE COVERING UP FOR You remember the one where Debbie Wasserman Schultz accused everyone of racism for looking into? Read this story from the Daily Caller and then please tell me it's no big deal. It seems to be a VERY big deal to me. This is the sort of story that ends up with bombshells all over the place. Watch this one.
AND NOW HERE'S A STORY ABOUT A BREAST FEEDING DAD. It's not some story about a trans man, it's a story about a new dad who stepped up when his wife couldn't and it's really sweet if a bit weird.
BUY YOURSELF A MOTORCYCLE, A GUN, AND SOME CHOCOLATE TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY Here is a list of some American made companies.
WHAT? That National Education Association gave Colin Kaepernick it's highest honor. But they care about your children. And are teaching them.
PEOPLE ARE MAD AT WALMART FOR COMPETING WITH AMAZON Many folks don't understand that Walmart.com is now like Amazon in that 3rd party vendors are now offering a lot of stuff on the site. And I guarantee Walmart doesn't know EVERYTHING that is on the site, as Amazon doesn't. They might not even know someone was selling the "Impeach 45" clothing that has now caused a boycott.
NOT GONNA LIE, THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING I'D SO RIGHT ABOUT NOW There is a "prison" in South Korea where people pay to be locked in a cell for 20 hours with no distraction, electronics or other people. Sounds pretty nice to me these days.
AND NOW THE CUTEST MONKEY STORY EVER
