About KOA NewsRadio

KOA has served Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West since 1924, with unmatched coverage of local news, community involvement and a commitment to unique, entertaining programming.

Our dedication to local news is the cornerstone of KOA.  With local newscasts 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week, listeners depend on us for updates from the Denver metro area and throughout Colorado.  Plus, our in-house traffic center is staffed 24/7, with traffic reports around the clock, including live reports mornings and afternoons from the KOA JetCopter and Colorado's only airborne reporter.

KOA is the proud home to three of the biggest sports franchises in America:  The Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and University of Colorado Buffaloes.

  • KOA has been the official Denver Broncos radio station since 1969.
  • The Colorado Rockies have been heard on KOA since the team's first pitch in 1993.
  • And, for over 75-years, the Colorado Buffaloes have been heard on KOA.

Broadcasting with 50,000 watts on 850 AM, KOA has one of the largest clear channel radio signals in America, covering much of Western United States.  In addition, listeners in Denver and Boulder can hear KOA on 94.1 FM and on 97.3 HD3.  Plus, our audio is available on multiple digital platforms, including KOANewsRadio.com, the iHeartRadio App and via Smart Speakers.
