3rd Gender Option for CO Driver's Licenses

Starting November 30th, Colorado will offer a new gender designation for driver's licenses and ID cards. The Letter X can be chosen by people who do not identify as male or female.  They're known as gender non binary.

The new designation  comes following  some court decisions about gender identification.  The 3rd gender option will help the state avoid lawsuits.

The new designation requires people to fill out a form and have it signed by a licensed medical or behavior healthcare provider.
