Has Fire Blight Hit Your Trees ?

Form Emerald Ash Borers to Pine Beetles it seems like Colorado trees can't catch a break. Kevin Marks from the Davey Tree Expert Company is warning homeowners about a bacteria called "Fire Blight."

This years hail storms broke open leaves allowing the bacteria to get in. Infected trees are being seen in  north Denver, Westminster, Louisville and Arvada.

Most infected leaves and branch tips will turn brown or black. The leaves will die  but won't drop off.

The spread of fire blight can be stopped with prudent pruning and the time to do it is when temperatures droop below freezing during the Fall and Winter.
