Large Bull Elk Poached in Poudre Canyon

Colorado Parks and Wildlife says someone deliberately killed a large bull elk to put a trophy on the wall. It happened either Sunday night or Monday morning in the Poudre Canyon on Highway 14 at mile marker 94.  Parks and Wildlife spokesman Jason Clay says the elk was shot and only the animal's head was removed.  CPW is seeking any information regarding the shooter, vehicles or other details regarding this crime.  You can call the Fort Collins office at 970-472-4300.  A reward of $500 is offered for information on cases involving big game or endangered species.
