 INFORMATION FOR FANS ATTENDING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHOWDOWN

AT BRONCOS STADIUM AT MILE HIGH ON FRIDAY 

DENVER — Fans attending the Rocky Mountain Showdown between the University of Colorado and Colorado State University on Friday at Broncos Stadium at Mile High are encouraged to pay attention to traffic and parking information.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MDT, and fans are encouraged to plan ahead due to the significant number of events in the Denver area surrounding Labor Day weekend.

PARKING INFORMATION: Parking lots will open at 3:30 p.m. Fans without pre-purchased parking permits are advised to arrive by 3:30 p.m. to purchase cash spaces in Lots M and N south of Colfax.

Tailgaters arriving early will be instructed to back their vehicles up into the parking spaces along the perimeters of the parking lots, where fans can utilize the adjacent landscaped areas (grass hills, gravel, etc.) to tailgate, rather than occupying parking spaces they don’t have permits for.

Fans coming after 4:30 p.m. without a pre-purchased permit will be advised to park at the Pepsi Center or Auraria Campus. Please note, fans will not be allowed to tailgate in the Auraria campus parking.

 

CU fans arriving from I-25 are encouraged to follow one of three routes:

Exit I-25 at Colfax Avenue. West on Colfax to Eliot Slip Ramp or Federal Boulevard.

Exit I-25 at 8th Avenue onto Zuni. North on Zuni.

Exit I-25 at 6th Avenue at Federal Boulevard and head north to Howard Place or Dick Connor.

CSU fans arriving from I-25 are encouraged to follow one of three routes:

Exit I-25 at 20th/23rd Ave. (EXIT 211) and follow the ramp South to three way stop at 20th and Mile High Stadium Circle.

Exit I-25 at Colfax Avenue. West on Colfax to Federal Boulevard. North on Federal to 20th Avenue.

Exit I-25 at 6th Avenue. West on 6th Avenue to Federal Boulevard. North on Federal to 20th Avenue.

 

STADIUM INFORMATION: Premium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. All other gates will open at 6:00 p.m. (CU students will enter Gate 9; CSU students will enter Gate 5). The stadium’s clear bag policy and metal detectors will be in effect.

Prohibited items during tailgating include :

Oversized tailgates that block drive lanes

Box Trucks

Glass Bottles

Kegs

Open-flame fires

Blocking or saving of parking spaces.

REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT (RTD) AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: RTD will provide bus and rail service to and from the stadium for the Rocky Mountain showdown with more transit options than ever. Fans will have direct service to and from the game with bus service from several locations in the metro area, the Federal Shuttle or the C, E and W rail lines.

For those heading downtown before the game, new services to Union Station are available on the Flatiron Flyer, the University of Colorado A Line and the B Line. From there, it is a quick transfer and trip to the stadium via the C, E and W Lines.

Fans can also pick up an Uber at the stadium post-game rideshare pickup location off Federal Blvd. and 17th Ave.

STREET PARKING: Denver Public Works Right of Way Enforcement Agents will enforce posted parking regulations in the area, including surrounding neighborhoods during stadium events.

Posted signs in the stadium area restrict parking to vehicles with the correct residential parking permit posted in the window from 12-9 p.m. on Saturday. Fans are prohibited from parking in the neighborhoods as vehicles without appropriate permits will be cited and towed.

To minimize inconveniences and traffic delays, fans arriving after 3 p.m. without a parking permit should avoid all roads in and around the immediate stadium area.
