Education Initiative Approved For Ballot

General Election - Education

Voters in Colorado will be deciding a key education funding measure in November.  The Secretary of State's Office announced yesterday Initiative 93 had enough petition signatures to qualify, and will be on the statewide ballot as Amendment 73.  It proposes raising state income taxes on those making more than 150-thousand-dollars a year, which could bring in one-point-six-billion-dollars annually.  It would also slightly raise the state corporate income tax.  The money is expected to go toward implementing full-day kindergarten and other education needs.
