Aurora Police explain shooting of homeowner

Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz says his officers told a homeowner five times to drop his gun before they shot and killed him Monday morning.  Richard "Gary" Black had just shot and killed an intruder who was attacking his grandson in Black's home when officers came in.  Chief Metz says the family told him that Black had a hearing impairment from his time in the military and may not have heard the officer's commands.  Metz says the family has asked that the officer's body camera video not be released.  Metz says his department is heartbroken by the situation.  He says he has assured the family that the officers are there for them in anyway that they can be.
