Aurora police say an armed man shot and killed by one of their officers was a homeowner who had just killed an intruder.
The scene unfolded early Monday morning near E. Montview Blvd. and N. Iola Street.
Officers say they arrived to a "very chaotic and violent scene," hearing gunshots after a call about a home invasion. The officer involved has been placed on paid leave while the investigation continues.
