Starbucks Mug Sparks Controversy

The new Colorado Mug that is part of the company's "Been There" series depicts Colorado things like columbine flowers, pine trees, horses and kayaks. It also depicts three oil and gas rigs.

On Twitter environmentalists have stated a campaign with the the hashtag #oilandgasisnotcolorado to urge Starbucks to pull the mugs. They say the rigs pose a health risk and hardly represent "Colorful Colorado."

The oil and gas industry says it is as Colorado as the Denver Broncos and Coors beer.  The industry employees 100,00 people and has a$31 billion annual impact on Colorado's economy.
