Lawsuit Over Rocky Flats Hits Federal Court

Environmental groups opposed to opening hiking and biking trails near a former nuclear weapons site are getting their day in court.  A U.S. District Court judge will hear from those opposed to opening trails at the Rocky Flats National Refuge today.  The Rocky Flats plant made triggers for nuclear warheads until 1989, and opponents of the trail plan say the area still poses health risks for hikers and bikers.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service plans to open the trails in September.
