Governor Visits Lake Christine Fire

Governor Hickenlooper is visiting the  wildfires in Colorado and started Friday with a visit to the Lake Christine Fire . So far 3 homes in the area have been lost and hundreds of people have been evacuated. These pictures from the Colorado State Patrol show how close the fire is burning to populated areas. The fire has charred 4,900 acres.

The Aspen Times reports Richard Karl Miller, 23, and Allison Sarah Marcus, 22, of El Jebel, Colorado have been arrested in connection with the fire. It's believed the fire started as the two were shooting tracer rounds at a public shooting range run by the Colorado Department of Parks and Wildlife. Tracer rounds are banned. The two are facing charges of fourth-degree arson.

Governor Hickenlooper says he wants to know why no one stopped the two from shooting those tracer rounds and says he wants to make sure something like this never happens again.
