Governor Vetoes Pot Sampling Bill

Governor Hickenlooper has vetoed a bill that would have allowed for the sampling of marijuana products at dispensaries. The Governor says voter approved Amendment 64 is clear that "marijuana consumption may not be conducted openly or publicly or in a manner that endangers others."

The Governor says he was concerned that sampling could result in more impaired drivers on the road. He also noted that vaping products in enclosed areas has been shown to have  significant health risks. Hicjenlooper claims sampling would result in the "further normalization of marijuana use in the yes of youth."
