Post Employees Protest Hedge Fund Owner

Employees at the Denver Post are taking part in rallies against their hedge fund owner Alden Global Capital.

In New York City a handful of Post employees joined others from Alden owned papers outside the company's lipstick tower. They called on Alden to sell its papers to local owners who care about journalism. A similar rally was planned outside the Post newsroom in Denver.

Alden owned papers has suffered large staff layoffs that employees say have diminished the product that is published everyday. They say Alden is milking the papers for profits until they eventually die.

In Denver, 3 top editors have resigned and the former chairman and owner of the paper, William Dean Singleton, has stepped down from the board.
