Governor Talking with People about the Denver Post

Governor John Hickenlooper says he's been a "sounding board" in nearly two dozen discussions with people who may have an interest in buying the Denver Post.  The Governor describes his role as being  very limited as the ultimate fate of the newspaper is unknown.

Last week the paper laid off 30 employees and it's editorial board called on its hedge fund owner to sell the Denver Post.

An investor group in Colorado Springs says it has already raised $10-million toward an effort to make a bid for the paper. The group is hiring an investment banking firm to give it advice as it moves forward.  They're also asking for more people to join the effort.
