Skier Killed In High Country Avalanche

A crew member for Mountain Rescue Aspen is dead following an avalanche.  The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office says the man was backcountry skiing with a friend in the Maroon Bowl yesterday when the slide hit.  The victim reportedly hit a tree during the avalanche and could not be revived.  The skier's body could not be recovered yesterday due to weather but officials hope to try again today.
