Filipino Company Taking Interest In Smashburger

The biggest fast-food chain in the Philippines is buying a majority interest in Smashburger.  Jollibee Foods says it will pay 100-million-dollars to purchase another 45-percent share in Smashburger's parent company.  Jollibee said the move will allow it to serve the mainstream American market along with Filipino-Americans living in the U.S.  Denver-based Smashburger will retain a 15-percent stake in the operation.
