Cat Declawing Banned in Denver

Cats Declawing

Many veterinarians already say they will not perform a declawing procedure on cats, but now it is officially banned in Denver.

Tonight, the Denver City Council has approved a ban on declawing cats. Outside the state of California, the city becomes the first in the U.S. to have such a ban.  Last week, the council heard from many veterinarians who described the pain the cats went through during the declawing procedures.

The Denver ban outlaws the procedure unless it is medically beneficial to the animal.
