Former Broncos assistant coach Greg Knapp, who was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle near his home in Danville, California, died today. Knapp was 58. Knapp was hired by the New York Jets this off-season

Knapp played for three NFL teams, and coached seven NFL teams over 27 seasons. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, and three daughters. He was the Quarterbacks Coach from 2013 to 2016 and was integral to the QB room when the Broncos won Super Bowl 50.

Knapp had been injured Saturday when the bike he was riding in northern California was struck by a car. Knapp, an offseason resident of Danville, was riding in the neighboring town of San Ramon when a motorist swerved into the bike lane and hit him. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in San Ramon before being transferred to another facility in Walnut Creek.
