Best time to take a Historic Denver Walking Tour is Now

Historic Denver Walking Tours are a great way to entertain visitors or just have fun being a tourist in your own town. If you are looking for a fun way to learn more about Denver, take a classic walking tour of LoDo, Capitol Hill, Larimer Square and the D&F Tower, or Historic 16th Street. Each tour brings to life the unique history of Denver with knowledgeable guides who know the ins and outs of the past and present. In addition to the four classic tours, this season Historic Denver will also be offering unique specialty tours including the Mansions of Quality Hill with stops in front of the Boettcher, Zang and Malo mansions, and an exciting partnership with the Governor’s residence, which will allow select tours inside this historic home. A tour of Five Points, led by native Terri Gentry, will take you back in time to 1920-1950 when the Welton Street corridor was the heart of the African-American community in the Rocky Mountain West. Discover the stories of jazz greats, military heroes, and the impressive lists of “firsts” that this thriving and powerful community added to history. Tour the Curtis Park neighborhood, beginning at Mestizo-Curtis Park, and explore Denver’s oldest streetcar suburb with longtime Curtis Park historian and resident Bill West, who will join the tour for a few stops to share his knowledge.

Historic Denver’s Walking Tours run daily through October 31, 2019. Tours last about 90 minutes and cost between $15-20. To view the complete tour schedule and purchase tickets, please visit https://historicdenver.org/tours-events/walking-tours/
