C.U. Basketball Coach Reacts To Growing Scandal

University of Colorado Basketball Coach Tad Boyle says he's worried about a black eye on his sport following multiple reports of corruption at school's across the country.

"I think you've got to look at this thing in two lights," said Boyle.  "One of them is recruiting and that's the one I'm concerned with.  One is taking money to go to a particular school and the other is taking money from an agent to sign with him when I leave school."

Arizona Basketball Coach Sean Miller chose not to coach his team over the weekend after ESPN reported that the FBI caught Miller discussing a $100,000 payment to a potential recruit.

"It's unfortunate, but it's reality," said Boyle in a video posted to Facebook.  "I don't think you have a lot of people that are shocked or surprised."

Another report by Yahoo Sports named a handful of players who allegedly took impermissible benefits from pro agents.

"In terms of players taking money from agents without coaches knowing about it," said Boyle.  "Every coach in America who has coached NBA caliber players is scared to death."

"People who love college basketball, love college basketball," said Boyle.  "Do I worry about a black eye? Yeah.  Do I worry about the integrity of our sport?  Absolutely I do.  But I do think there are two seperate issues we have to look at, and one doesn't necessarily leak in to the other."

"It's going to be very interesting to see how it's handled and the precedents that are set."

Boyle also shared his reaction to the unfolding scandal after CU beat UCLA on Saturday, Feb. 24. Those comments are below.
