John Branch of the New York Times
Reporter, author and Pulitzer Prize winner John Branch of the New York Times will be at Tattered Cover on Colfax on Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. to talk about and sign copies of his new book The Last Cowboys--A Pioneer Family In The New West.
Branch grew up in Golden and in the book, he profiles the Wright family, who have been ranching near what is now Zion National Park in southern Utah for generations. The Wrights also happen to be the First Family of saddle bronc riding, with several family members winning the world title in the event.
John joined April Zesbaugh, Marty Lenz and Mike Rice on Colorado's Morning News and talked about his book and the challenges this family and others have as they look to continue their longstanding way of life.
