The Colorado Rockies needed a quality outing from Jon Gray.

To be honest, Jon Gray probably needed a quality outing from Jon Gray.

And Gray delievered in a big, big way in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres at Coors Field.

Gray limited the Padres to three hits in six scoreless innings, walking only one and striking out 11.

The Rockies' offense gave Gray early support, scoring a run in the second inning and then adding three more in the third. David Dahl highlighted the third with a two-run triple.

The win gave the Rockies a series victory over the Padres. Now, it's off to Miami to start a three-city road trip against the Marlins.

Game one will be Friday, April 27 at 4:30 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
