Rockies Start Road Trip With 5-1 Win Over Nats

The Colorado Rockies could not have scripted a better start to their seven-game road trip.

Chad Bettis pitched seven innings of one-run ball and D.J. LeMahieu hit two home runs and drove in four runs in the Rockies 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park.

LeMahieu led off the game with a solo home run and then drilled a two-run shot in the sixth inning to put the Rockies up 5-1.

LeMahieu finished 4-for-5 with two home runs, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored.

Bettis turned in seven terrific innings, giving up only one run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

The Rockies improved their all-time road record against the Nationals to 28-16.
