The Colorado Rockies needed a great start.

Jon Gray delivered.

He threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just four hits while striking out seven in the Rockies' 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres Wednesday night at Petco Park.

The Rockies gave Gray early run support. Trevor Story's two-run double in highlighted a three-run first inning and the Gray took care of the rest.

The Rockies and Padres close out their series Thursday afternoon. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
