Mission accomplished.

The U.S. women's hockey team defeated four-time defending Olympic champion Canada, 3-2 in a shootout, in the gold medal game at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson scored on a terrific move in the sixth round of the shootout and U.S. goalie Maddie Rooney saved the final two Canadian shots to give the U.S. its first gold medal in women's hockey since the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
