To put it mildly, Sunday was not a good day for the Denver Broncos.
They lost their eighth consecutive game, this time by a 35-9 score to the Miami Dolphins.
The Broncos' continued to struggle in a variety of areas. They committed three turnovers, allowed two safeties, gave up a blocked punt and surrendered three sacks.
"Just bad football all the way around," head coach Vance Joseph told KOA NewsRadio after the game.
The Dolphins turned the game in quick fashion in the second quarter. Jay Cutler's 9-yard touchdown pass to Julius Thomas gave Miami a 9-3 lead with 9:39 left in the second quarter. On the Broncos' first play of the ensuing series, Xavien Howard intercepted Trevor Siemian and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown and 16-3 Dolphins' lead.
14 points in seven seconds and the Broncos were cooked.
"That's where the game turned," Joseph said to KOA NewsRadio Voice of the Broncos Dave Logan. "Now [we're] down again by two possessions and trying to come back and it looks like every other week that we've had."
The Broncos are 3-9 and their eight-game losing streak is one short of the franchise record of nine consecutive losses, set in 1967.
