Colorado Rockies right-hander Jeff Hoffman sure is looking like a bona fide Major League pitcher. Hoffman tossed seven brilliant innings in the Rockies 3-1 win over the San Diego Padres Sunday at etco Park.

Hoffman allowed only three hits and did not walk a batter. He struck out nine men.

The Rockies scored all their runs in the third inning. Trevor Story had a two-run single and Tony Wolters followed with an RBI base hit.

Jake McGee pitched a perfect eighth inning and Greg Holland retired the side in order in the ninth to record his 21st save of the season.

The Rockies return home to face the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday. Coverage of that game starts at 6:05 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
