After a tough 8-5 loss on Friday night, the Colorado Rockies bounced back in a big way on Saturday. Ian Desmond hit a grand slam and Tyler Chatwood threw eight sparkling innings to lead the Rockies to a 10-1 win over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

Chatwood allowed only one run on four hits, with one walk and eight strikeouts in his eight innings of work. Desmond broke open a 4-1 game with a grand slam in the seventh inning. Nolan Arenado went 2-for-4 with his 14th home run and three RBIs. D.J. LeMahieu had three hits and drove in a pair of runs.

The Rockies will go for the series win on Sunday. Right-hander Jeff Hoffman will get the start in place of Tyler Anderson who is headed to the 10-day disabled list with left knee inflammation.
