11/30/23 Blog: A Film About a Veteran Story, and a Colorado Film Festival

A PLACE IN THE FIELD IS STREAMING SOON And I've got the film's writer, director, and star Don Dipetta on today to talk about it. "A Place In The Field" is a powerful drama, about a battle-shocked veteran who goes on a road trip to fulfill a promise to a fallen comrade - soon realizing that he must confront his own demons to reach his destination. You can stream it now on Prime Video or Hudu. Watch the trailer below, I will be renting it for sure.

THE YELLOW BARN FILM FESTIVAL IS COMING! This is a new film festival that celebrates Colorado and beyond. Film Festival founder Katie McManus joins me at 2:30 to talk about it and you can find out everything and make your plans for December 9th by clicking here.

HELP VETERANS BY SUPPORTING THE MOTORCYCLE RELIEF PROJECT! I'm going to talk with Michael Bobbitt about what they do and how you can help, but they are having a gala and a silent auction this weekend you can support, or just throw them some money. My friend Rob says he has several friends whose lives were saved by this group. That seems worthy enough to me. Find out more here and bid by clicking here.

THE TRIAL OF TWO PARAMEDICS IN THE ELIJAH MCCLAIN CASE HAS BEGUN And was this criminal or a horrible mistake that ended the life of young Elijah McClain? Knowing what I know right this minute, I am in the latter camp and think it was more poor training on the use of ketamine by the two paramedics who administered a big dose to the smallish man. Read more here but I'll be watching this and praying for McClain's family and that justice is served, whatever that looks like.

SO BIDEN'S VISIT WAS A CAMPAIGN STOP FOR FRISCH Even though Adam Frisch, the opponent trying to unseat Lauren Boebert, was nowhere to be found when the deeply unpopular President appeared in the district, it was still a campaign stop for sure. Biden spent a good bit of the speech we skipped directly attacking Boebert in her own district. Frisch's campaign should have to reimburse the taxpayers for the trip, God knows he can afford it. Read about it here if you want to.

STUDIO C'S LATEST CD GOES ON SALE THIS WEEKEND And as it does every year the cd with songs from artists recorded in IHeart's Studio C, which is right below my studio, will benefit the Boulder County Aids Project and Food Bank of the Rockies. Buy it various Whole Foods Markets this weekend but get it soon, it always sells out.

CHILD TRAFFICKING RIGHT HERE IN COLORADO Two scumbags have been arrested for luring children as young as 11 and exchanging sex acts for drugs and vape pens. The men face up to life in prison and I'm fine with that. Y'all, where are the parents here? Why is an 11 year old willing to trade sex for vape pens and drugs? What the hell?

WANT TO VISIT A COLORADO RESTAURANT THAT'S BEEN ON TV? Here are five to choose from.

ELON MUSK HAS SEEN THE ERROR OF HIS WAYS And has apologized for retweeting an anti-Semitic tweet, calling if the most foolish things he's done on social media and apologizing for handing a "loaded gun" to those who hold anti-Semitic views. Is this enough? I don't know, we'll see how he follows the apology with deeds. I cancelled my verified subscription over it and lots of advertisers jumped ship too, but Musk doesn't seem to care about those, as he told them to "f*ck off" for doing so.

CAN STRETCHING HELP YOU GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP? A new app says yes and there is science behind it. The app is called Pliability and you can try it for a month free. Read it here.

AARON RODGERS HAS BEEN CLEARED TO PRACTICE And if this works he will make a stunning comeback after what was supposed to be a season ending Achilles tear. The 40 year old quarterback is now cleared to practice, of course the Jets are likely out of the playoffs, so why he would rush it if that were the case is beyond me.

ON SUNDAY WE'RE ALL GONNA BE CHIEFS FANS FOR THE DAY Okay not REALLY but in support of a movement to support a nine year old kid who was singled out by an idiot columnists for wearing facepaint to a football game to support his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Deadspin reporter Carron J. Phillips' allegations that the nine-year-old was driving hate to both, 'black people and Native Americans at the same time.' This is the dumbest bit of claptrap I've ever heard. Does this mean the Glitter Twins at Florida State are driving hate to Asians and Native Americans too? Mr. Phillips was desperate to find racism and he targeted a freaking nine year old boy who loves the Chiefs. Chiefs fans plan to show up with their face painted in support and I'm here for it.

THE BIG MAC CONUNDRUM AND BIDEN'S ECONOMY This is a great story about how a viral story about a $16 meal at McDonalds that has become the symbol for the Biden economy is flummoxing the White House. The White House keeps telling us the economy is great, but real people aren't feeling it and when a McDonalds combo costs over $16 bucks they can't deny it. From the Wall Street Journal story:

The Big Mac conundrum reflects what Biden aides and senior Democratic officials regard as one of their most vexing challenges ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Even as inflation has fallen to a manageable 3 percent, and although the labor market has remained hot amid strong growth, voters still don’t like the economy, and they blame the president.
Overcoming this discontent — and understanding what is driving it — has become a central priority of the White House and Democratic lawmakers, leading to a fierce debate among economists, pollsters and other experts.
As the administration tries to figure out how to improve its economic message, White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients has held internal meetings over the last several weeks with top communications and economic officials, according to two people familiar with internal matters, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe the discussions. (A White House spokeswoman declined to comment.)

Sure inflation is now 3% but that has done nothing to bring down prices which skyrocketed over the last few years. I think it's fantastic that the White House continues to show how totally out of touch they are with the average American who actually eats at McDonalds.

HENRY KISSINGER HAS DIED at the ripe age of 100, outliving most of his counterparts on a diet of schnitzel. The Left is celebrating his death, while others are honoring him as the statesman he was.

A BANK INVESTIGATOR THOUGHT BIDEN PAYMENTS WERE HINKIE But oddly any investigation into the five MILLION bucks that flowed to Biden, Inc from the Chinese was quickly shut down. They seemed odd because they came in with no regular schedule and Hunter Biden's "law firm" had no actual business with the company that was paying him. These payments were how the $40,000 "loan repayment" from shady ass Jim Biden flowed to shady ass Joe Biden through a serious of shell companies before the Big Guy got his cut. But I'm sure there is nothing to see here. Read it in the National Review, but check out this bit:

A bank money-laundering investigator expressed serious concerns about a transfer of funds from China that ultimately trickled down to President Biden in the form of a $40,000 check from his brother, James Biden, according to an email obtained by the House Oversight Committee. Biden received a $40,000 personal check from an account shared by his brother, James Biden, and sister-in-law, Sara Biden, in September 2017 — money that was marked as a “loan repayment.” The alleged repayment was sent after funds were filtered from Northern International Capital, a Chinese company affiliated with the Chinese energy firm CEFC, through several accounts related to Hunter Biden and eventually down to the personal account shared by James and Sara Biden.
Northern International Capital sent $5 million to Hudson West III, a joint venture established by Hunter Biden and CEFC associate Gongwen Dong on August 8.
On the same day, Hudson West III then sent $400,000 to Owasco, P.C., an entity owned and controlled by Hunter Biden. Six days later, Hunter Biden wired $150,000 to Lion Hall Group, a company owned by James and Sara Biden. Sara Biden withdrew $50,000 in cash from Lion Hall Group on August 28 and then deposited the funds into her and her husband’s personal checking account later that day.
On September 3, 2017, Sara Biden wrote a check to Joe Biden for $40,000.

Weird that a simple "loan repayment" would require so much money laundering first. And by the way, Joe Biden has not offered to provide documentation of the actual loan in any way, like a cancelled check to James Biden or any other explanation and the media is just giving him a pass on it.

RELEASED CHILD HOSTAGES ARE AFRAID TO MAKE NOISE The stories of torture and mistreatment are beginning to come out, as little children lost 15% of their bodyweight and are now afraid to make any noise after almost two months of being held by their hideous captors in Hamas. Read about it here, but I promise it will sicken and infuriate you so you've been warned.
