LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE FOR A MINUTE Or at least the holiday dedicated to it as today is Valentine's Day! Here is a great history of Valentine's Day although they do admit the origins are a little murky, though not created by Hallmark as some claim. We are going to spend a tidy sum this year and this article has some stats about where we're spending it. Men, you guys spend TWICE as much on Valentine's Day than women and I'm here for it. If you're single today, don't let it get you down, take today to love on YOU instead. Buy yourself some candy and spring for flowers TOMORROW when they all go on sale. Just don't get blue about it. We've all been there and though being single on V-Day can feel lonely, it doesn't have to, I promise. Here are a ton of ideas for the single folks out there and you can make this day whatever you want it to be, just don't let it make you bitter. That's not a good look.

HOW INVOLVED WAS THE FBI WITH DENVER PROTESTS? This article is crazy but totally believable. In the author lays out the ways an FBI informant tried to escalate the violence that stemmed from the George Floyd protests by using a man with a criminal record as a paid informant. According to this, he actively tried to persuade someone to kill Phil Weiser (who then used our red flag law to take the man's guns) and others to blow up stuff and whatnot. Read the story here and it's hard to not wonder how deep the FBI was in January 6th, as we know that a man named Ray Epps did the same sort of stuff and has not been detained at all. WHY DENVER'S VISION ZERO IS A FANTASY This is super interesting. A guy did a deep dive on traffic fatalities in order to judge how Denver's Vision Zero plan that aims to achieve zero auto accident deaths is working. The short answer is it isn't. Why not? Because we aren't solving the problem as it exists, which is that a big chunk of these fatalities have little to do with the driver of the car involved. The stats on riding a motorcycle without a helmet are pretty eye opening and though I support one's freedom to choose whether or not to wear one, I think it's kind of dumb not to considering the stats. POLIS IS TRYING TO SHOVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ONTO BUILDING OWNERS With his green fantasy plan that requires buildings with a certain amount of square footage to make big changes to meet the green standards Polis thinks will help him become President. What I find hilarious is that STATE BUILDINGS ARE EXEMPT unless they are being remodeled. Of course they are. What this means is that all of these costs will get shoved onto renters, which some buildings are having a hard time finding anyway, which will lead to more bankruptcies on large buildings when they may or may not be buyers for those buildings, which I sort of feel is the real purpose here. Remember when Dems said they wanted to save us all money? Good time, good times. But those were election promises so they don't matter now.
WOMEN BRINGING POLITICS TO MASS COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT GETTING COMMUNION And sorry about your luck, but that is the decision of the priest. Three women wore rainbow masks to a Mass at All Souls because they wanted to protest the firing of a gay teachers. That's not what mass is for and the priest simply did not give them communion and now their mad about it. This statement from the diocese is spot on:
Kelly Clark, a spokeswoman for the Denver Archdiocese, said nobody from All Souls was available to discuss the matter with The Denver Post. She said the Archdiocese would not make a statement addressing the allegation, but noted in an email that “the most sacred thing we do as Catholics is celebrate Mass.”
“It is a time to worship God, not a time to seemingly make a statement or enter Mass with the intent of provoking a response,” she wrote. “It is perfectly acceptable for a priest to decide to give a blessing instead of Communion if it appears the person isn’t ready to receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ. We encourage anyone who feels they were wrongly denied Communion to speak to the pastor of their church.”
Make a political statement if you want, but the Church doesn't have to give you your way just because. I support the priest in this one.

Now someone has figured out that girls probably shouldn't walk into the bathroom to see a bunch of boys with their penises in their hands so the answer is to BAN URINALS. So now boys will go into the stalls and pee all over the seats. Yay.
NOW CANADA IS HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ON BEING A SANCTUARY And I must say, this is wildly entertaining even as human lives are at stake. After finding out that New York was "helping" illegal immigrants make their way to the Canadian border, Canada is flustered. Read the coverage of this as two compassionate Sanctuary Cities are now arguing about what to do with the migrants flooding into them. They are SHOCKED at how many resources are being spent on these people. They could have called Texas and Arizona to find out but it wasn't a big deal when all the migrants were down there. Funny how that works. Remember when the Left was calling for jail for DeSantis and Abbot for doing this same thing? Good times.
