Tue Blog: Christian Toto Is On To Talk Biden's Very Hitleresque Speech

OUR FUTURIST THOMAS FREY IS TODAY AT 1! And he's sent me two very interesting columns for discussion and you can find the one on AI glasses replacing our phones here, and the one on the leveling effect tech will have on pay and geography here.

CHRISTIAN TOTO SAYS GINA CARANO WAS RIGHT Right about what you might ask? She was right for pointing out on social media that the language being employed by Democrats was very similar before the election to the language designed to dehumanize Jews in Germany before the Holocaust. She had the nerve to tweet out this:

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

It's a legit point and one made even more clear by Herr Biden's fiery speech calling Trump supporters the problem as he stood before a blood red building. I went back to grab Hitler's response to the "jewish question" way back in 1919 and this is what he said:

In the statement, he defined the Jews as a race and not a religious community, characterized the effect of a Jewish presence as a “race-tuberculosis of the peoples,” and identified the initial goal of a German government to be discriminatory legislation against Jews. The “ultimate goal must definitely be the removal of the Jews altogether.” Hitler's years in Vienna (1908–1913) and his military service were important stages for his development of a comprehensive racist ideology.

Here's a quote from Biden's speech:

And here, in my view, is what is true: MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election, and they’re working right now as I speak in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself.
MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards, backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love. They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fanned the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.

Wait, wasn't it your team that said bring the violence in a post George Floyd summer? Yes, it was and here are the links.

MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger. They thrive on chaos. They live, not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies.

Does that sound like a reasonable way to describe your political opponents? Christian is on at 2 to discuss. Find Hollywood in Toto, his fantastic right leaning entertainment site here.

IN CASE YOU MISSED THE BLOCK HEARD ROUND THE WORLD May I have a moment to relish the last play of the game tie busting block of an extra point from the FSU/LSU game. In case you were wondering the kid who blocked it, Shyheim Brown, is from my hometown. GO NOLES!

BOULDER SAYS NO TO GUN SHOWS IN A FIT OF PIQUE Because a judge just blocked enforcement of their slew of new gun laws until a challenge makes its way through the courts. So just to flex their now neutered muscles the Boulder County Commission declared that there will be NO GUN SHOWS at the fairgrounds. Okay, that'll show em.

THE JEFFCO SHERIFF'S RACE IS GUN RIGHTS VS GUN GRABBER And when a candidate for Sheriff is endorsed by a City Councillor backed by Mom's Demand Action, the Bloomberg gun grabbing group, you know it's going to be interesting. That is exactly what is happening in Jefferson County, so if you are in favor of gun rights and you live in JeffCo, you need to read this.

SENDING KIDS HOME BECAUSE OF THE HEAT IS SHAMEFUL And yet it's happening in Denver where schools that don't have air conditioning during this heat wave. We have got to fix this. Kids are going to miss school because the heat is unbearable and makes it impossible to learn

ANOTHER 16 GRAND TO CLEAN UP AN OPEN AIR DRUG MARKET They called it a "homeless encampment" but we know what it is. The urban outdoorsman left a whopping four dumpsters worth of debris behind for someone else to pick up at the cost of $16,000 taxpayer dollars.

DUMB CRIMINAL MAKES SUPER DUMB MISTAKE As a guy pretending to be a cop pulled over an off-duty cop by mistake. Read about it here.

WHY ARE WE SO SMOKY RIGHT NOW? I'm sure you've noticed the haze hanging over the skies. Luckily, it's not Colorado that is on fire, but Idaho and Montana fires that will cloud our skies for the week.

ARE YOU TIPPING LESS ON DELIVERIES NOW? According to Toast, the point of sale system used by many restaurants, we have cut back out tipping and some are calling it "tipping fatigue". I know we overtipped during the pandemic but now I've dramatically cut back on DoorDash and UberEats because the last few times I've tried to use them no one was available to get the order. In person tipping is still strong at almost 20% but delivery tipping has dropped.

MORE ON BIDEN'S SPEECH HYPOCRISY And if you're sick of me talking about this speech, sorry about your luck. It was THAT BAD and THAT HYPOCRITICAL.

HOW IS WHAT TRUMP DID DIFFERENT THAN WHAT HILLARY DID? I asked this last week so imagine my delight when I saw this column by Jonathan Turley pointing out the differences and showing CLEARLY that what Hillary did was worse. Using the Hillary precedent, Trump should not expect any reasonable prosecutor to file charges. He should send James Comey a basket of flowers for creating that precedent. From the column, which is very good:

Prosecuting Trump for a misdemeanor for possessing or removing classified documents would seem gratuitous, while prosecuting him for a felony would raise questions of biased or selective prosecution. After all, in 2016, Hillary Clinton had not just 113 documents containing classified material but some documents “classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level” on her private email servers. (In Trump’s case, the government allegedly found roughly 100 documents in the Mar-a-Lago raid in addition to roughly 150 handed over by the Trump team under an earlier subpoena.)
Clinton’s documents were even more vulnerable to being compromised via her unclassified email account and, according to the FBI, “hostile actors gained access” to some of the information. Yet she was never subjected to a raid, let alone a charge.
Yet, while less glaring as a contradiction than the charges on the possession or handling of classified information, an obstruction charge would allow up to a 20-year sentence and could be brought with misdemeanor charges on the mishandling or retention of classified information.
Thus, an obstruction charge against Trump would be prosecuted in the shadow of Hillary Clinton’s case. In addition to the transfer of top-secret and other classified documents to her private server, Clinton and her staff did not fully cooperate with investigators. During the investigations of her conduct, some of us marveled at the temerity of the Clinton staff in refusing to turn over her emails and other evidence to State Department and DOJ investigators, including laptops holding suspected classified information. The FBI had to cut deals with her aides to secure their cooperation.
Later, more classified material was found on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who was married to top Clinton aide Huma Abedin — 49,000 emails potentially relevant to the Clinton investigation.
After Congress sought these emails, Clinton’s staff unilaterally destroyed thousands of emails with BleachBit. Clinton was aware that Congress and the State Department were seeking the emails in 2014. Her lawyers turned over about 30,000 work-related emails to the State Department and deleted 33,000 others while insisting they unilaterally deemed them “personal.”

This isn't "whataboutism" it's precedent.

TOWING IS MORE FAIR BUT YOU STILL CAN'T PARK ANYWHERE YOU WANT Especially if you are trying to park in an apartment complex or business center where people pay for their parking spaces. You still can't park there. Read this for more about the new towing law.

A CRYPTO MISTAKE MAKES A WOMAN TEMPORARILY RICH And I find this story odd because I'd been told that if you forget the number to your cryptocurrency "wallet" you are just screwed because you made a mistake. But when a crypto company "accidentally" sends a woman millions, they have the right to go after her to get it back? Seems odd to me. Like the odds are always stacked in the house's favor.

A FORMER NFL PLAYER NEEDS SOME SERIOUS HELP As he was arrested for breaking into a mansion, doing some damage and then bathing in the mansion's fountain outside. This is not his first weird brush with the law and he obviously has drug or alcohol or mental health issues or all three. I hope someone can help him.
