Ross' Thurs Blogcast: 3 Dangerous Men, Ken Buck on Big Tech; Morrison cops

Today's interesting guests

Olympic Gold Medal winner Benita Fitzgerald Mosley joins us to talk about her efforts to boost youth sports in America through her role at LeagueApps and FundPlay. We will cover some Denver-area youth sports organizations that she's helping. More about her organization here: (20+) LeagueApps - Posts | Facebook

Seth Jones is the director of the Transitional Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He has written "Three Dangerous Men: Russia, China, Iran, and the Rise of Irregular Warfare." We'll talk about the "three dangerous men" but focus primarily on China in the aftermath of their reported new missile test...which many folks are saying really isn't as revolutionary as the first breathless news reports made it out to be.

Congressman Ken Buck (CO-4) has been one of the most outspoken Republicans against "big tech" generally and social media companies specifically. Facebook has very few friends on Capitol Hill right now which is unusual for a company that big...they can usually buy whatever friends they need. We'll ask Ken what he thinks the proper role of government is in regulating or even trying to break up some of these big companies. Let's say I'm skeptical that there's any legit gov't role. Here's Ken's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/repkenbuck

Joining us to respond to Ken is Jake Ward, President of 3C (Connected Commerce Council) - a national membership organization of small businesses empowered by digital tools.3C is concerned about the aggressively anti-social-media company positions taken by some members of Congress. Here's an example of their thinking: Statement from Small Business Group Regarding the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, Legislation Creating New Restrictions on Digital Platforms - Connected Commerce Council (connectedcouncil.org)
