Broncos to Pick Up LB Bradley Chubb's 5th Year Option

It was inevitable, but not it's all but official, The Broncos are picking up Linebacker Bradley Chubb's 5th year contract option. The deadline for all 1st round picks from the 2018 Draft Class to have their option exercised is Monday, May 3rd.

By having the 5th-year-option picked up, Chubb is scheduled to make $12.71 Million in 2022. He's set to make $4.37 Million this year. However, he, along with WR Courtland Sutton are prime candidates for contract extensions prior to the start of the year, or even during the season. Sutton, as a 2nd round pick, heading into his 4th year would become an unrestricted free agent following the 2021 season.

Chubb joins, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and Packers CB Jaire Alexander who also had their options picked up Friday.
