Will Barton Hamstring Injury Sidelines Him for “Foreseeable future”

Nuggets guard Will Barton hobbled off the court Friday night in San Francisco, and as he crumbled to the ground, it was like déjà vu all over again for Nuggets Nation. As Barton clutched his hamstring, it immediately conjured up memories that are all too fresh of fellow Nugget guard Jamal Murray lying on that very same court just 11 days earlier after suffering a season-ending knee injury. Once again injury was added to insult as Denver’s 4-game winning streak was snapped by The Warriors, 118-97.

Prior to Saturday’s game vs. Houston at Ball Arena Head Coach Michael Malone didn’t provide much optimism for Barton’s return to the court as he said he would be out, “for the foreseeable future." and described it as a "pretty significant hamstring strain."

Shortly after Malone’s pre-game press conference, Barton sent out a tweet to try to calm Nuggets fans down:

Barton is averaging 12.7 points this season. In the 4 games following Murray’s injury, Barton averaged 15 points. The Nuggets are now without “The Blue Arrow,” for the year, “Will the Thrill” for a long while and Monte Morris who’s also battling a hamstring issue.
