Authorities in Boulder, Colorado, responded to an active shooter situation at a grocery store on Monday (March 22) afternoon. According to KDVR, police responded to a call at King Soopers and came under fire when they arrived at the scene. There are reports of multiple victims.

Officials have not provided details about the victims, but KCDO reported that three medivac helicopters were seen landing at Fairview High School, which is near the grocery store. Boulder Community Health told KDVR that one patient was being transported to the hospital for treatment.

A witness told KDVR they saw somebody wearing tactical gear and carrying an “AR-15 style weapon.” Another person told KCNC that the gunman shot somebody near the pharmacy, where people were waiting to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The supermarket is one of several sites in Colorado where coronavirus vaccines are being distributed.

Video from the scene showed officers leading a shirtless man with a blood-covered leg away in handcuffs. He was put into an ambulance, and it is unclear if he a suspect in the shooting.

After the man was led away, police were seen escorting dozens of people out of the store.
