The Colorado Rockies are closing in on the start of the 2020 regular season.

They'll open up on Friday, July 24 at the Texas Rangers.

Summer Camp continues at Coors Field with another intrasquad game between the Purple team and the Pinstripes team on Tuesday, July 14.

Rockies manager Bud Black joined Jack Corrigan and Mike Rice Tuesday morning on Logan & Lewis on KOA NewsRadio and said Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story approached him and asked to be the team captains and pick the squads.

Black added that Ryan McMahon was the top pick but did not say who selected him. Bud also revealed that Garrett Hampson will lead off for Arenado's team.

Other topics discussed included the belief the players and coaches have that they can be a good team, the leadership of both Arenado and Story, the battle between Chi Chi Gonzalez and Jeff Hoffman to be the fifth starter and more.

Here's the full interview with Bud.
