Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon is back.

He returned to the team in time to take part in Monday's Summer Camp workout at Coors Field.

Several weeks ago, Blackmon tested positive for COVID-19.

"I feel great," Blackmon told reporters in a Zoom call. "I have felt that way for at least a couple of weeks now. I had a day-and-a-half of symptoms. I want to be ready for Opening Day."

Blackmon said he felt like he had a mild case of the flu, a headache, a little cough and body aches for about 36 hours.

"I was blindsided by the positive result. I knew that I felt sick and as a precaution I decided to get tested. I was not expecting to test positive for the virus. We were being pretty safe, take-out food and our circle was very, very small. We were being safe, washing our hands and things like that. I really don't know how I contracted it. I wish I did."

The Rockies open the 2020 season at the Rangers on Friday, July 24.
