California Teens Fight Off Homeless Woman Trying To Push Them Off A Bridge

A pair of teenagers from California fought off a homeless woman after she assaulted them and tried to push one of them off a bridge. The two teens, who run cross-country at Capistrano Valley High School were jogging across a bridge over the Crown Valley Parkway when 23-year-old Stephanie Redondo attacked them.

Motorists saw the struggle and called 911, believing that somebody was trying to jump off the overpass. When officers arrived, they found the two boys managed to fight Redondo off with the help of other people nearby.

"Thankfully the juvenile victims and witnesses reacted swiftly, and no one sustained serious physical injury from this incident," the Orange County Sheriff's Office wrote on Twitter. "This is an important reminder of how quickly a situation can escalate and that personal safety should always be top-of-mind."

Redondo was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to the Orange County Jail where her bail was set at $500,000. Officials did not say why the woman attacked the teens.
