colorado Officials Say State Employee Retirement Fund Lost $1.8B Last Year

Colorado's pension plan for state workers took a big hit on Wall Street last year. The Public Employees Retirement Association announced late last week that it lost one-point-eight-billion-dollars last year. The loss will keep PERA from giving retired employees a cost of living increase this year and will reduce the amount given next year. State workers currently paying into retirement fund will see their contributions increased by nearly one-percent this year and two-percent next year.
