Deadly Wildfires Top $1 Billion In Damages

The losses incurred by residents of the deadly wildfires across California is in the billions of dollars.  The Department of Insurance estimates the losses are already over $1 billion across the entire state.  The data was provided by several California insurers that processed claims for tens of thousands of policyholders.  The losses stem from commercial and residential structures, personal and commercial vehicles and agricultural equipment that was all damaged by the wildfires.

Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones has signed an emergency declaration that allows insurers to tap out-of-state claims adjusters from other offices, which allows them to expand their claims adjuster workforce.
