Just One Thing: The right answer is the right answer

You’ll never get anywhere accusing politicians of hypocrisy but I don’t like it on the Supreme Court. Now I’ll admit that this is a stretch because I’m talking about two different people but both on the Court’s left: In oral arguments on Tuesday about labor law, left-wing Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said that the situation at issue was uncommon so the court should probably not change anything about how the system works now. In oral arguments on Wednesday in a case about abortion, left-wing Justice Elena Kagan is very concerned about the potential ramifications of current law in what she called “these rare cases.” Kagan is closer to right in that the right answer, the constitutional answer, is not based on how rare a situation is. Seems kinda obvious, don’t you think?
